RAMALLAH, November 23, 2011 (WAFA) – The Health Work Committee (HWC) Wednesday condemned the arrest of its financial and administrative director, Waleed Abu Ras, by the Israeli Authority’s after raiding his home in the West Bank city of Ramallah, according to a statement issued by the committee.
HWC website said that, “Dozens of soldiers raided and cluttered Waleed’s house and terrorized his children before arresting him in a brutal manner.”
“They took him to an unknown destination,” it added.
HWC statement said that Abu Ras was also arrested last year and he was administratively detained.
It added that several of HWC employees were previously subjected to the Israeli authority’s harassment through arrests, prevention of the health crews’ movement, as well as the closing of some of the committee’s centers, including the Nidal Center for Community Development in the old city of Jerusalem.
HWC called upon the local and international human rights organizations to move fast to release of Abu Ras and the rest of the Palestinian prisoners.
