NICOSIA, November 16, 2011 (WAFA) – Leader of the ruling party in Cyprus, the Progressive Party of Working People (AKEL), Andros Kyprianou, Wednesday stressed his party’s support for the Palestinian people, according to the Palestinian embassy in Cyprus.
The Palestinian ambassador to Cyprus, Walid Hasan, met with Kyprianou and informed him of the latest developments in the Palestinian cause, as well as discussed the recent Palestinian membership to UNESCO and Cyprus vote in favor of the application.
Kyprianou stressed his support to the Palestinian non-violent struggle for freedom and independence, added the embassy statement.
