RAMALLAH, November 15, 2011 (WAFA) - PLO Executive Committee Member, Saeb Erekat condemned Tuesday the Israeli government’s decision to build 800 new housing units in East Jerusalem.
Erekat told WAFA, “All efforts of the Quartet, international community and the entire world to convince Israel to stop settlement activities and create a suitable atmosphere to resume negotiations have failed.”
The Israeli Ministry of Interior announced the start of marketing the construction of 750 new housing units in Gilo settlement, in East Jerusalem, and 65 housing units in Pisgat Zaev settlement.
The official Israeli radio said that the ministry of interior published a report about marketing new housing units in East Jerusalem.
The Israeli municipality prepared an official document to build 60,000 new housing units in east Jerusalem by 2020.
