Israel Decides to Continue Freezing PA’s Tax Revenues

TEL AVIV, November 14, 2011 (WAFA) – Israeli Ministerial Committee decided Monday to continue freezing the Palestinian Authority's tax revenues, according to Israeli media.

It said that Israeli Defense Minister, Ehud Barak rejected the decision to freeze PA's tax revenues, but Israeli Finance Minister, Yuval Steinitz was able to convince the ministers to vote in favor of his proposal; to continue freezing PA’s tax revenues, amounting to 400 million Israeli Shekels.

Steinitz claimed that “PA must be punished for taking unilateral measures; applying for full membership in the United Nations and gaining it in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).”
