Israeli Soldiers Suppress Kufr Qaddoum Weekly Anti-Settlements March

QALQILIA, November 4, 2011 (WAFA) - Israeli soldiers on Friday suppressed the weekly anti settlements march in Kufr Qaddoum, a town east of Qalqilia in the northern West Bank, causing severe suffocation cases among Palestinian and foreign activists, according to witnesses.

Murad Qaddoum, coordinator of the marches in Kufr Qaddoum, said Israeli soldiers suppressed the march using tear gas and causing severe suffocation cases among all members of three families, including five children, in addition to six other Palestinians and an international activist.

The soldiers fired tear gas and stun grenades towards the participants in the march, and several homes in the area causing suffocation cases among the families, including five children, he said.

Weekly Friday marches of Kufr Qaddoum started last July to demand the opening of a street that has been closed for nine years and to protest against the Israeli policy of land seizure to expand the nearby settlement of Kedumim, built on village land.
