GAZA, October 30, 2011 (WAFA) – Nine Palestinians were killed in continuous airstrikes on Gaza by the Israeli air force on Saturday night and Sunday morning.

An Israeli airstrike Sunday at dawn killed two residents of Gaza City's Shajaia neighborhood, while Israeli warplanes continue to shell sites in the city of Khan Younis, along with several neighborhoods east of Gaza.

Medical sources reported that two more Palestinians were killed late Saturday night in an airstrike in Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, while several were injured and taken to hospital.

Five Palestinians were killed earlier on Saturday in an Israeli airstrike that targeted an Islamic Jihad cell in Rafah. Three people were injured, two of them reported in critical condition, according to local witnesses.

Israeli media quoted army sources that the Islamic Jihad cell targeted on Saturday was responsible for launching a grad rocket at southern Israel last week.

Israeli air force continues to fly low in Gaza, amid reports on a cease-fire coordinated by Egypt between Israel and the Palestinian factions.
