New Construction in Settlement Outpost near Salfit

SALFIT, October 22, 2011 (WAFA) – Israeli authorities started building a watchtower along with new construction in Navi Nahniyah settlement outpost near Iskaka, a village in the Salfit area, north of the West Bank, said a local official on Saturday.

Samir Haris, head of Iskaka village council, said Israeli forces razed vast areas of the village land and prevented landowners from accessing their property. The army built a fence around the outpost that encompassed a large area of the village land.

Haris said there was around-the-clock construction in the outpost including building the watchtower overlooking Iskaka to tighten surveillance and control over movement of Palestinian farmers and residents.
