RAMALLAH, October 10, 2011 (WAFA) – Foreign Minister Riyad al-Malki said Monday that Iceland will officially recognize Palestine as an independent state on Tuesday.
He told Voice of Palestine radio that Icelandic Minister for Foreign Affairs, Össur Skarphéðinsson “has recently made the request to recognize a Palestinian state to the Icelandic Parliament, which approved the request and will officially announce it Tuesday.”
Al-Malki said he will travel to Portugal and Bosnia-Herzegovina as part of the Palestinian Authority's tour which aims to persuade world countries to recognize a Palestinian state.
