STRASBOURG, October 8, 2011 (WAFA) – The European Parliament (EP) budget committee proposed to increase financial aid to the Palestinians by €100 million in 2012, Friday said an EP press release.

Following two days of negotiations, the budget committee proposed the final figures of the EU budget of 2012 to the European Commission with key changes that included increased spending on Palestine.

The committee will vote on a draft budget resolution next week and the EP will take the final vote on October 26.

If accepted, the budget will go to the European Commission, the European Union’s administrative arm, for a final approval, which should come by the end of November.
