GALILEE, October 3, 2011 (WAFA) – Unknown assailants Monday set fire to a mosque in Tuba-Zangariya, a Bedouin-Arab village in the Galilee, north of Israel, reported Israeli media.
Residents said damage was caused to carpets and walls. Some graffiti was scrawled in Hebrew on the walls of the mosque, saying “revenge” and “price tag.”
Jewish settlers launched the “price tag” campaign in 2010 in retaliation to the Israeli government’s decision to freeze some illegal settlement building in the West Bank. Whenever settlement building is restricted in one area, settlers constantly threaten and attack Palestinians and their properties.
Last year, graffiti was scrawled in Hebrew on a mosque in Ibtin in Galilee, including the words “for demolition,” “war on the West Bank” and “price tag.”
