RAMALLAH, October 2, 2011 (WAFA) – PLO Executive Committee Member, Saeb Erekat, considered on Sunday the Israeli response to the international Quartet to resume negotiations deceives the international community as the true Israeli position was declared in Tel Aviv through expanding Gilo settlement ,in East Jerusalem, according to ‘voice of Palestine’.

Erekat announced Palestine’s success to traverse the five phases of statehood criteria, which were endorsed by the international court of justice. “we do not need settlers' testimony,” referring to the declaration of the right-wing Israeli foreign minister, Avigdor Lieberman, which claimed that the Palestinian Authority is not ready for statehood.

Regarding  the US House of Representatives' resolution to cut aid to the Palestinian Authority if it sought United Nations recognition of a Palestinian state, he said that the Palestinian leadership will not yield to pressure. “We are not  in a confrontation with the Americans. The real pressure should be put on the Israelis who continue settlement activities on the Palestinian land.”
