Palestinian Producer Price Index Decreases in August

RAMALLAH, September 26, 2011 (WAFA) - The overall Producer Price Index (PPI) in the Palestinian Territory decreased by 0.14% in August 2011, reaching 97.71 compared to July 2011, Monday said a report by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).

 

PPI for exported products reached 98.18 in August 2011, which indicated a decrease by 1.23% compared to July, said PCBS.  

                                  

The report noted that PPI for local consumed products reached 97.66 in August 2011, registering a decrease by 0.03% compared to the previous month.                                     

 

The report traced back the changes of PPI for August to changes in prices of some major activities compared to the previous month, including a decrease by 0.03% in the prices of agriculture goods and an increase in the prices of fishing by 7.65%.

 
Moreover, the prices of mining and quarrying, as well as the prices of manufacturing group decreased by 1.15% and 0.19% respectively.
