JERUSALEM, September 26, 2011 (WAFA) – Israeli police Monday arrested Palestine Legislative Council member, Ahmad Atton, from a demonstration tent in front of the International Red Cross compound in East Jerusalem.

Many lawmakers have gathered in the demonstration tent since June 17, 2010 to protest the Israeli policy which aims to drive Palestinians out of Jerusalem.

“The arrest of a Parliament member who enjoys parliamentary immunity is considered a crime. The international community must take responsibility and condemn Israel for its crimes,” said Fatah Revolutionary Council member, Dimitri Diliani.
