NABLUS, September 22, 2011 (WAFA) – Hundreds of Palestinian public sector employees Thursday participated in demonstrations in Nablus and Ramallah to condemn US President Barack Obama’s speech at the United Nations which opposed the Palestinian bid for UN membership.
The demonstrators expressed support for President Mahmoud Abbas’ efforts to win UN membership while denouncing Obama’s speech, which they said was biased toward Israel.
Protesters held slogans which read, “Yes for a Palestine state no. 194” and “No to injustice and oppression.”
They called on world leaders to support the Palestinians' right to get full membership in the UN.
