JERUSALEM, September 20, 2011 (WAFA) – The Israeli military court imposed house arrest on the Secretary of the Political Bureau of the Popular Struggle Front (PSF), Awny abu Ghosh, for 30 days and fined him after releasing him on Monday.
PSF considered the court decision unjust, illegal and in line with the Israeli government’s terrorist and racist policy against the Palestinian leadership, especially at the time of the Palestinian bid for full United Nations membership of a Palestinian state this week.
The court decision is among Israeli authorities’ practices targeting Palestinians living in Jerusalem, and aims to undermine the Palestinian efforts against the Israeli policy of Jedeaizing Jerusalem, continuing settlement activities and the Apartheid Wall, added PSF.
It considered the decision as “political par excellence,” a violation of international law and charters and an assault against legitimate Palestinian institutions and symbols.
