RIYADH, September 19, 2011 (WAFA) - Saudi Arabia completely supports the Palestinian bid to gain full United Nations membership of a Palestinian state based on 1967 borders, and puts all its political and diplomatic means under the Palestinian disposal to enable the bid to succeed, Monday said the Palestinian ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Jamal Shobaki.
Shobaki, in an interview with Voice of Palestine, praised Saudi Prince Turki al-Faisal’s article in the New York Times under the title “Veto a State, Lose an Ally,” where he warned the US administration that it would risk losing the little credibility it has in the Arab world and that Saudi Arabia would no longer be able to cooperate with the US in the same way it historically has, if the US vetoes the Palestinian bid.
