RAMALLAH, September 19, 2011 (WAFA) – The US administration is undertaking more vigorous efforts to gather enough United Nations Security Council members to vote against the Palestinian request to gain full UN membership of a Palestinian state based on 1967 borders, so as to avoid having to use its veto power, Monday said PLO Executive Committee Secretary, Yasser Abed Rabbo.
Abed Rabbo, in a radio interview with Voice of Palestine, said the Palestinian leadership is determined, despite all the pressures being put on it, to go through with the UN statehood bid.
He indicated extensive meetings and talks between the Palestinian and Arab delegation in New York with different states to rally support for the Palestinian bid.
