RAMALLAH, September 18, 2011 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas Sunday headed to New York to participate in the annual session of the United Nations General Assembly and apply for recognition of the State of Palestine in the UN Security Council later this week.
Foreign Minister Riyad al-Malki told Voice of Palestine radio station that “the president’s schedule is full of meetings, especially since many of the countries that will participate in the session have asked to hear Palestine’s position before Abbas’ speech to the UN.”
