Settlers Vandalize Mosque in Nablus

NABLUS, September 8, 2011 (WAFA) – Jewish settlers Thursday vandalized a mosque in Yatma, a village south of Nablus in the northern West Bank, writing racist slogans and threats on its walls, said the head of the settlements file in the northern West Bank, Ghassan Daghlas.

Settlers broke into the village and delivered written threats to its residents as part of the ongoing war against mosques and places of worship, added Daghlas, who warned from further attacks on Palestinian villages.

In a related matter, Jewish settlers cut off tens of olive trees on Thursday at dawn in Hawara, a village south of Nablus, using the dark to cover their actions.

Settlers also set two Palestinian vehicles on fire at the entrance of Qablan, a village south of Nablus.

These attacks followed the arson of a mosque by Jewish settlers in Qusra, a village southeast of Nablus, and a series of settlers’ provocative attacks that targeted Nablus’ southern countryside lately, in the period leading up to the Palestinian bid to seek full United Nations membership of a Palestinian state at the General Assembly meeting later this month.
