LONDON, September 8, 2011 (WAFA) - British Minister for the Middle East, Alistair Burt, in a press release Thursday condemned the “despicable, and deliberately provocative” arson of a mosque by Jewish settlers in Qusra, a village south of Nablus in the northern West Bank last Monday.
“I deplore the senseless arson attack on a mosque in the West Bank village of Qusra on September 5th. I note that the Palestinian Authority and the government of Israel have also condemned this vindictive act of vandalism. This attack on a place of worship is despicable, and deliberately provocative,” Burt said.
He welcomed the stated determination of the Israeli authorities to pursue the criminals responsible, and commended the restraint shown by the people of Qusra.
