RAMALLAH, September 7, 2011 (WAFA) – The Palestinian national campaign for the support of the Palestinian bid to ask for United Nations membership, Palestine 194, will launch its activities on Thursday with a demonstration outside UN Ramallah office, Wednesday said a press release.
The organizers also plan to hand the UN’s representative a letter addressed to the UN Secretary-General demanding approving Palestine’s membership.
Palestine 194 plans to hold marches and non-violent protests up to the time the UN would vote on the Palestinian request. It expects the largest demonstration will happen on September 21, the day the UN General Assembly starts its 66th session, and on September 23, the day President Mahmoud Abbas is expected to make his speech at the General Assembly.
