TEL AVIV, June 4, 2011 (WAFA) – Israeli and Palestinian peace activists are planning a protest in Tel Aviv Saturday evening under the slogan “Palestinian state is in the Israeli interest,” according to a statement by Peace Now.

It said that “we will protest against (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu's foot-dragging in establishing a Palestinian state alongside Israel … and demand an immediate return to peace negotiations.”

A statement by the Arab-Israeli political bloc, the Democratic Front for Peace and Equality (DFPE), said the demonstration will also run under the slogan “Netanyahu said no and we say yes to the Palestinian state,” and “Netanyahu is leading us to disaster.”

Both Peace Now and the DFPE called on supporters and activist to participate in this protest, which comes on the eve of the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip in June 1967.
