BEIT SAHOUR, April 16, 2011 (WAFA) – A sports poll conducted by the Palestinian Center for Public Opinion and whose results were published Friday found out that Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip were divided between the two top world football teams, Barcelona and Real Madrid.
The poll, conducted between April 1 and 5, said that while 51.3% of Palestinians favor Real Madrid and 35.6% favor Barcelona, 55.8%, however, said they expect Barcelona to win the Clasico super Spanish football match between the two teams later Saturday. Only 42.3% said they expect Real Madrid to win.
The poll also said that 89.6 of the respondents said they encourage their children to participate in sport activities.
The poll covered a random sample of 1005 Palestinians in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and Gaza Strip and had a plus or minus 3% margin of error.
