GAZA, April 9, 2011 (WAFA) – A Palestinian was killed on Saturday and two others wounded, one critically, when a missile fired by an Israeli drone hit a group of Palestinians in Zaytoun neighborhood, northern Gaza, according to medical sources.

They said a missile hit the group wounding three, two critically, and one later died of his wounds. He was identified as 30-years-old Raed al-Bir, a member of an armed group.

This brought to four the number of Palestinians killed on Saturday and 17 in the last three days.

A missile earlier critically injured one Palestinians in Sudaniyeh neighborhood in northern Gaza. He lost his legs, said the medical sources.

Another strike on Jabaliya, northern Gaza, had caused damage, but there were no reports of injuries.

The Israeli army had meanwhile intensified its presence in the southern parts of the country in light of the rise in exchange of gunfire across the borders with Gaza.

Several rockets were fired from Gaza on Israeli towns, which fell in open areas without causing any damage or injury.

The Palestinian Authority had asked for an urgent meeting for the Arab League on Sunday to discuss the Israeli army escalation against Gaza and how to prevent an outbreak war.
