Israeli Jailors Beat Palestinian Prisoner

BETHLEHEM, April 7, 2011 (WAFA) – Israeli prison guards at Ofer military camp near Ramallah Thursday beat Mahmoud Thawabteh, 25, for no apparent reason, according to the Palestinian Prisoners Club.

It said in a statement that Thawabteh, from the village of Beit Fajjar, near Bethlehem, and who was arrested at the end of December, suffered serious injuries as a result of the attack on him.

He was also placed in solitary confinement.

The prisoners club called on international bodies and human rights organizations to investigate what it described as crimes committed by the Israeli prison administration against the Palestinian prisoners.
