CAIRO, April 7, 2011 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas Monday briefed Issam Sharaf, the Egyptian prime minister, on the general situation in Palestine and the latest with the peace process.
The meeting, attended by high level delegations from both sides, took place at Abbas’ residence in Al-Andalus Palace in Cairo.
The meeting dealt with the reconciliation issue including efforts made to end the division and to strengthen national unity, as well as contacts by the Palestinian leadership regarding the peace process as the date for the next quartet meeting approaches.
The quartet is scheduled to meet on April 15.
