RAMALLAH, March 31, 2011 (WAFA)- Two Palestinian prisoners and one Egyptian in Israeli Naqab (Negev) prison Thursday continue their open hunger strike for the twelve day in a row, in Support of Abbas’s initiative; Ending the Palestinian internal division.
According to Ministry of Detainees' Affairs, prisoners said: “ through the strike, we are sacrificing our lives to gain national unity. We call on Hamas to respond to president Abbas’s initiative and to listen to Palestinians and prisoners voice and suffering, calling for ending the Palestinian division”.
Naqab prison administration transferred the three prisoners to solitary confinement in an attempt to isolate them and break their strike.
Palestinians in Hebron held sit-ins and rallies in solidarity with the three prisoners. In addition, 30 prisoners in different Israeli prisons announced strikes in solidarity with these three prisoners.
