Musical Performance in Jenin in Solidarity with Japan Catastrophe

JENIN, March 31, 2011 (WAFA)-  Al-Kamanjati (Violin) Association for Music Wednesday night held  a musical performance in solidarity with the Japanese suffering after the catastrophe that hit Japan on March 11, 2011.

Kamnjadti’s Orchestra played a classical piece accompanied by rear projection of Japanese cites and lands’ images before and after the tsunami.

Walid Basha , who obtained his doctoral degree from Japan,  attended the performance and spoke about  the Japanese support of the Palestinian cause and the establishment of Palestinian institutions and  projects.

He also talked about the Japanese Takwa Himori who burned himself in Tokyo in the year 2001, expressing his refusal of Israeli invasion of the West Bank at that time.

 Director of Ministry of Culture’s Directorate in Jenin,  Izzat Abu Rub , also attended the event and delivered a speech in which he  spoke about Japan’s important role in establishing the Palestinian institutions, stressing on the importance of strengthening the Palestinian-Japanese relations.
