RAMALLAH, March 30, 2011 (WAFA) - Exports increased in January 2011 by 13.8% compared to December 2010 and reached $66.8 million, Wednesday said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).
Exports to Israel increased in January by 26.1% compared to December 2010, but exports to other countries decreased by 53.2% during the same period, it said.
Exports to Israel represent 92.9% of total exports in January.
Imports increased in January 2011 by 4.4% compared to December 2010 and reached to $421.7 million, added the PCBS.
Imports from Israel, which represent 72.7% of total imports, decreased by 0.6% in January.
Imports from other countries indicate an increase by 19.7% compared to December.
The trade balance indicated an increase in trade deficit by 2.7% compared to December 2010 and reached $354.9 million.
