RAMALLAH, March 29, 2011 (WAFA)- Palestinian Prison’s Club (PPC) said in a report on Tuesday that Israel has brutally beaten prisoners Tareq Afandi and Omar Brighith during their arrest.
Afandi said “Around 20 soldiers broke my car’s glass at Ezion junction and sprayed tear gas on my face. They dragged me on the ground after binding me and one of the soldiers stepped on my face while I was on the ground repeatedly asking me “ Where is the bomb?”. When I told them that I suffer from pain in my leg, they started hitting it on purpose. Then, they went sabotaging and searching my car to find the “claimed” bomb. After that I was transferred to the military camp where I was beaten for almost 4 hours”.
On his part, Brighith said that soldiers beat him heavily using kitchen tiles from his house.
The club’s lawyer, Jaklin Fararjeh said that Brighith suffers from bruises under his eyes and other parts of his body.
