Israel Raids Awarta, Arrests Dozens of Palestinians

NABLUS, March 29, 2011 (WAFA) - Israeli soldiers raided early Tuesday the village of Awarta, southeast of Nablus in the north West Bank, and arrested dozens of Palestinians.

Soldiers in tens of vehicles accompanied by police dogs raided the village and searched homes, then arrested dozens of residents after taking fingerprints, according to head of the village council, Qais Awwad.

Awarta has been exposed to continuous attacks since the March 11 killing of five settlers in Itamar settlement, illegally built on the lands of Awarta.
