Producer Price Index Down for February

RAMALLAH, March 28, 2011 (WAFA) - Overall producer price index (PPI) in the Palestinian Territory reached 99.91 in February 2011, according to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS). The base month for the index was January 2011 equal to 100. The PPI decreased by 0.09% compared with January 2011.

 
The producer price index for exported products reached 99.98 in February 2011, which indicate a decrease by 0.02% compared with January 2011.
 
PPI for local consumed products reached 99.90 in February 2011, which indicate a decrease by 0.10% compared with the January 2011.
 
The decrease of the PPI for February is traced to changes in the prices of agricultural goods, down by 1.71%, mining and quarrying, down by 11.78% and fishing, down by 4.33%. However, manufacturing group went up by 1.27%, said the PCBS.
