SALFIT, March 27, 2011 (WAFA) – Khaled Mahbuba, field officer of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Salfit governorate, north of the West Bank, Sunday documented the destruction of the 'Freedom Road' by Israeli forces in Qarawat Bani Hassan, a village northwest of Salfit.
Mayor of Qarawat Bani Hassan, Abdul Karim Rayyan, informed Mahbuba of the scale of destruction caused by bulldozers in the 'Freedom Road' and its consequences on the farmers in the area.
He stressed the importance of intervention by the Red Cross to protect Palestinians from such attacks by Jewish settlers.
Israeli army bulldozers destroyed 'Freedom Road' for the second time in three months and prevented Qarawat Bani Hassan’s residents from crossing to their lands, which are targeted by settlers.
