ATHENS, March 20, 2011 (WAFA) – Presidents of the socialist parties Sunday stressed in a statement in a meeting held in Greece the full rights of the Palestinian people in regard to freedom, democracy and the establishment of an independent state.

Nabil Shaath, member of the Central Committee of Fatah and commissioner of its international relations who represented president Mahmoud Abbas in the meeting discussed the Palestinian issue and the suffering of Palestinian people from Israeli occupation demanding the support of Palestinian rights in freedom, independence and sovereignty as well as to pressure Benjamin Netanyahu’s government to stop settlement activities, judaizing East Jerusalem, end the siege imposed on Gaza strip, and support Abbas to achieve unity through ending  the Palestinian national division.

Shaath also held several important meetings and discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries.
