RAMALLAH, March 17, 2011 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Salam Fayyad Thursday called on Hamas movement to accept President Mahmoud Abbas’s initiative to end Palestinian division.

Fayyad considered that forming a national unity government with Hamas the way towards ending the division and reuniting Palestine.

He said that “I call on Hamas movement to start carrying on with ending Palestinian division’s procedures which will pave the way for reconciliation.”

Fayyad stressed that forming a new government is a practical and definite procedure which will help Palestinians to achieve reconciliation.

He added in his speech at the graduation ceremony of “Active Citizens” program organized by center of development “Ma’an” in collaboration with the British Council, in Al-Auja area located in Jordan valley: “President Abbas‘s initiative can be immediately implemented and will help in reuniting the country. We can’t waste any more time and we should support it”.
