Barak: Recognition of Palestinian State a Political Tsunami

TEL AVIV, March 14, 2011 (WAFA) - Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak Monday considered the international recognition of a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders next September a political tsunami that will strike Israel.

Barak said in a speech at the The Institute for National Security Studies in Tel Aviv that this political development will carry a strong element of delegitimizing the State of Israel, according to Haaretz.

He claimed that ‘Israel is an oasis of stability in a wild environment and it is difficult to initiate new political moves from now on, because the reactivation of the peace process has become more dangerous than before due to the ever-increasing gaps,’ according to local sources.
