CAIRO, March 10, 2011 (WAFA)- A Palestinian youth gathering in Egypt Thursday agreed upon uniting efforts to end the division between the West Bank and Gaza.
During their first meeting, held under the title 'brainstorming towards effective mechanisms to end the division', at the Information and Cultural Centre of the Palestinian Embassy in Cairo, youth agreed to work seriously to end the Palestinian division in order to support national unity and confront the Israeli occupation.
They emphasized the need to support and participate with young people in Gaza and the West Bank as people are the source of authority.
The youth gathering also announced an activity they organized; a solidarity stand next Tuesday at 11:00 am, at the Palestinian Embassy headquarters, in Cairo to demand an end to division.
Ambassador of Palestine to Egypt, Farra Barakat, who attended the meeting said that the Palestinian leadership and President Mahmoud Abbas are loyal and working around the clock to end the division, in order to “close this dark page in the history of our people and their national struggle”.
