RAMALLAH, February 28, 2011 (WAFA) – Foreign Minister, Riyad Malki and his Swedish counterpart Carl Bildt Monday discussed the stalled peace process and the current situation in the region.
The two ministers also discussed in the meeting Palestinian-European relations, bilateral relations and prospects to revive the peace process.
Malki welcomed his Swedish guest, describing his visit as historic since Bildt is going to spend it all in Palestine.
Bildt said he will stay here for three days and will make Nablus, in the north of the West Bank, his base. He said he will also visit various areas in the West Bank, including those in area C, which is under full Israeli control.
He also said that the region was witnessing a very important time, but he expressed concern about Palestinian-Israeli peace and support for the two state solutions, which he believes is the best solution.
Sweden will also take concrete steps to support building the Palestinian state, he added.
