HEBRON, February 28, 2011 (WAFA) - Israeli forces Monday delivered seven demolition orders for five homes, one mosque and a school in the village of al-Ramadin, southwest of Hebron.
Security sources told WAFA that the Israeli military government handed the homeowners demolition orders for their homes, claiming they did not follow routine procedures nor obtain necessary permits for the said structures.
Soldiers also notified the head of the village council and handed him demolition orders for a school and a mosque in the village.
Villagers said the army wants to kick them out of their homes in order to expand a nearby illegal settlement.
Also on Monday, soldiers delivered demolition orders to families in Beit Hanina and Shu'fat Refugee Camp, all located in East Jerusalem. One family is still fighting in court for a permit which the West Jerusalem Israeli municipality had rejected.
Since Israel occupied Jerusalem in 1967, the municipality rarely gives Palestinian residents permits for home building, and it charges them exorbitant amounts for a permit.
