Rweidi Killers Convicted of Involuntary Manslaughter

TEL AVIV, February 27, 2011 (WAFA) - Israeli Attorney General accused on Sunday the killer of Husam Rweidi from Kofr Aqab, a village north of Jerusalem, of involuntary manslaughter although witnesses confirmed that the four murderers shouted 'Death to the Arabs' and one of them stabbed him.

According to the indictment presented on Sunday, to the Central Court in Jerusalem, four young Jews from Jerusalem and from a settlement in the West Bank walked around the city of Jerusalem noticed two people speaking Arabic and started cursing them, then beat up the deceased.

 During the assault one of them pulled out a knife and stabbed Husam in the neck and his friend in the face.

Prosecution said that the defendants stabbed the two Palestinians and continued to beat them however Husam managed to call the police, the killers fled the scene and Husam were taken to the hospital where he died.

The suspects were arrested when they returned to the crime  scene to find the knife, the prosecutor said.
