RAMALLAH, Feburary 27, 2011 (WAFA) - Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fatah) Sunday called on international organizations to carry out their moral and humanitarian responsibility to stop Israeli aggression against Palestinians.
Osama al-Qawasmi, Fatah spokesperson said in a press release issued by the Office of Information and Culture: ‘It is a shame that international organizations remain powerless in the face of Israeli measures against Palestinians and under the control of a country that insists on executing the ugliest crimes against Palestinians for more than four decades.’
Qawasmi added that Israel practices the worst policies of oppression and racial discrimination against Palestinians, through insisting on a settlement policy, detaining children, demolishing houses, terrorizing and displacing Palestinians at an increasing pace, all under the full view of the international community.
Qawasmi pointed out that Washington’s veto against the Security Council decision which condemned Israeli settlements in the Palestinian Territory displays double standards, and a dangerous indication of the use of these organizations as a way to implement the interests of superpowers, regardless of justice, human rights, principles and the moral values that the organizations were established for.
He also doubted the credibility and intentions of the USA which on the one hand is quick to impose punishments on countries that do not respect human rights, yet on the other hand defends regimes with the largest violations of human rights and of the decisions of the international community.
