RAMALLAH, February 27, 2011 (WAFA) – Ministry of Information Sunday said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s comments to the Daily Telegraph do not aim for peace with Palestinians.
In a press statement, the ministry said: ‘These comments are an extension of a dark racism and express a mentality that has mastered circumventing international legitimacy and distorting facts.’
It added that ‘Netanyahu’s claims that Israel believes in establishing a Palestinian homeland and its placing conditions on the historical right of our people, through them acknowledging Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state, are only repeating an old, politically impotent speech.’
The ministry considered Netanyahu’s claim that there is no basis for discussing boarders with Palestinians as a violation of international legitimacy which created Israel, saying that the ongoing occupation in Palestine is a violation of UN international legitimacy and resolutions which criminalize the occupation and aim to end it.
