Israel Carries Out Air Strikes on Gaza

GAZA, February 26, 2011 (WAFA)- Israeli warplanes Saturday bombed several locations in the Gaza Strip.

According to witnesses, F16 warplanes fired four missiles on the southern town of Khan Younis and another on Nusseirat refugee camp in central Gaza causing severe damage to houses and businesses, with no casualties reported.

The strikes came shortly after two makeshift missiles were fired from the Gaza Strip on nearby Israeli areas. The missiles fell in open area without causing any damage or injuries.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has threatened to attack Gaza if the missiles keep falling on Israeli areas.

Earlier on Wednesday, Israel's F-16 warplanes and Apache helicopters carried out multiple airstrikes across the Gaza Strip, and have not left the area since.

The strike then came in response to a grad missile which hit a house in Beer Sheba, the biggest Israeli town in the Naqab desert, south of the country.

Israel has placed the Gaza Strip under siege and imposed blockade on it since June 2007, causing a humanitarian crisis for 1.5 million Palestinians.
