RAMALLAH, Feburary24, 2011 (WAFA) - Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad Malki Thursday discussed in a meeting with Luxembourg Foreign Minister Jean Asselborg the Palestinian situation.
They also discussed Palestinian-Israeli relations, the stalled negotiations and what is required to move forward, in addition to bilateral relations between the two countries.
Malki stressed that the continuation of the current Israeli government’s confiscation of land, expansion of settlements and building the separation wall reflects the lack of seriousness of the Israeli government to reach a solution through negotiations.
The Palestinians refuse to resume negotiations without clear terms of reference and without a specific timetable.
He added that Palestinians have several options in the next stage and these include going to the United Nations General Assembly to get its support for declaration of the Palestinian state. Other options include going to the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court.
Asselborg supported the right of Palestinian to establish an independent Palestinian state on 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital and supported their conditions for resuming negotiations with Israel.
