BETHLEHEM, February 23, 2011 (WAFA) – Palestinians marched in Bethlehem Wednesday to condemn the United States veto of a Security Council resolution describing Israeli settlements in the Palestinian Territory as illegal.
Bethlehem governor Abdul Fattah Hamayel addressed the crowd saying that the march denounces the US veto, which does not support peace in the area.
He said the protest supports the official Palestinian position, which clings to Palestinian inalienable rights.
Hamayel stressed the importance of national unity as a priority over political affiliations and interests in order to face Israeli occupation.
