RAMALLAH, February 21, 2011 (WAFA) - Recent revolts in Tunis and Egypt are the biggest supporters to the Palestinian struggle, said participants in a seminar organized by Arab Thought Forum on Monday.
Participants in the seminar, which is titled “Wind of change”, said that Palestinians can’t endure the current state of division pointing out that Palestinians should make their cause a priority and regain national unity.
Egyptian revolution largely affected Palestinian cause especially as they controlled Palestinian reconciliation document and ruled Rafah crossing in Gaza.
Nabil Amro, an official in Palestinian National Authority, said that Palestinians should learn from Egypt’s revolution by directing their efforts to end division among them in order to face the Israeli occupation.
Uthman Abu Gharbieh, a member of Fatah executive committee, said that it is still early to discuss the effects of the Tunisian and Egyptian revolutions on the Palestinian cause.
Egyptian revolution allowed Israel to further oppress Palestinians, said Hani al Masri, a political analyst, adding that Palestinians should unite first in order to face the Israeli occupation.
