GAZA, February 21, 2011 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Monday shot a Palestinian while he was collecting gravel in Gaza, witnesses said.
According to witnesses, Israeli soldiers located near the separation fence East Zeitoun, a neighborhood South East of Gaza city, opened fire at a group of Palestinian workers collecting gravel,.
They added that a 21 year old worker was shot in his foot. He was taken to Al Shifa Hospital to receive treatment; his condition was described as moderate.
Israeli forces target any moving object within 300 meters of the buffer zone along the separation fence in Gaza.
The Israeli policy of targeting Palestinian workers has caused 129 injuries and two deaths since last November.
