Abu Al-Gheit Briefs Palestinian Envoy on Current Situation in Egypt

CAIRO, February 17, 2011, (WAFA) -  Egyptian Foreign Minister, Ahmad Abu al-Gheit Thursday briefed the visiting Palestinian Presidency Secretary GeneralTayyeb Abdul Rahim  on current situation in Egypt.

 Abdul Rahim told WAFA: “President Mahmoud Abbas sent me to meet with Abu al-Gheit, and other officials in Egypt because we always look forward to Egypt, to its key role in the Middle East and its supportive role in the Palestinian cause.”

He praised the role and sacrifices of the higher council of armed forces and the Egyptian people’s sacrifices for the Palestinian cause. 

 “Egypt is our biggest supporter and regaining its stability, security and key role in the Middle East is very significant to Palestinians”, said Abdul Rahim.

He added that we shouldn’t allow Israel to exploit recent developments in the area and escalate its aggression on Palestinians.
