GAZA, February 17, 2011 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Thursday opened fire and killed three Palestinians near Beit Lahiya, north of Gaza City, according to medical and security sources.

Medical sources identified the three, who were later brought to hospital in northern Gaza, as fishermen in their 20s.

The security sources said heavy gunfire was heard near the northern border with Israel, apparently coming from a helicopter, which was seen flying in the area.

When Palestinian ambulances were later allowed to reach the area, they evacuated three Palestinians who have lost their limbs and their faces were disfigured due to the heavy shooting.
