Israeli Activists Urge Artists to Boycott Eilat Music Festival

JERUSALEM, February 15, 2011 (WAFA) - Israeli left-wing activists called on international artists planning to participate in an international music festival planned next month in the Red Sea town of Eilat to boycott it, Tuesday said the Israeli newspaper Haaretz.

Activists sent emails to members of international orchestra, iPalpiti, asking them not to participate in the Red Sea Chamber Music Festival.

Those who signed the boycott letter said that the planned festival aims to normalize Israeli occupation of Palestine.

However, festival organizers said that iPalpiti has no intention to respond to the boycott call.
